carat weight is not size

A carat is a unit of weight; what the eye sees is the stone's face — its diameter from above. A well-proportioned round 1 carat diamond measures about 6.4 mm across. Two stones of the same weight can face up noticeably differently: some of the weight goes into depth. We select stones that face up larger than average for their carat weight.

choosing by eye

A report does not show how a stone plays: windows, colour dead spots and dispersion are visible only in person. So you decide only after seeing the stone, with no deposit. At the showroom we lay several stones of the same weight side by side to compare.
